Infographic: What Businesses and Marketers Can Expect Entering an Era of Massive Disruption

As much as companies have transformed in the past several years, it’s clear that even more dramatic disruption lies ahead. According to research from Accenture Interactive, human-machine collaboration will require more than half of the workforce to learn new skills in the next five years, and IoT technology will be in 95 percent of new electronics by 2020. Meanwhile, one-third of companies are planning to increase their innovation-related investments by more than 50 percent, as worldwide spending on technology and services to enable digital transformation reaches nearly $2 trillion by 2022.

“Many of the innovations we were told would disrupt and revolutionize the way our clients engage with customers are finally fulfilling that promise,” said Accenture Interactive global content lead Jamie Posnanski, who also predicted “rapid, continued evolution as new technologies mature and are seamlessly integrated into a connected suite of tools and platforms, each playing a unique role in delivering transformational customer experiences.”

“Programmatic content creation supports personalization and intelligent media spend; digital twin capabilities enable everything from product manufacturing to premium marketing; retail and service experiences are more frequently tailored to consumer needs; even virtual reality has found a practical application in revolutionizing workforce training,” Posnanski added.
